The Governors Admission Policy allows a child to start school in September at the beginning of the school year in which they have their 5th birthday. During the year before the children are due to start school, we organize an induction programme when the New Entrants and their parents have the opportunity to visit school on several occasions. Therefore, when the children start school in September, they are familiar with the class and school routine, and they will already feel secure in their relationships with the children and staff.
The school supports the principles of an inclusive education service and welcomes pupils irrespective of their ability or needs.
No child will be refused admission on the grounds that they have SEN. The needs of most pupils can be met within the existing school provision and facilities but the school is developing a policy which plans for the improvement of the physical environment of the school in line with the Disability Discrimination Act.
Parents wishing to enrol their child / children for a place here, are very welcome to come and look around at any time by appointment, and also they may like to attend the school’s concerts, functions and extra curricular events. Parents of preschool
children must return their application form to the school of their choice. Firm offers of places are made by the Governors according to the admission criteria.
