Governors
Our governors work as a team. They are responsible for making sure the school provides the highest quality education for all pupils. The documents provide information about who the governors are, how they organise their work through their committees and their attendance at meetings.
Our Chair of Governors is Mr Blake Prince and can be contacted via care of the school.
Rev Matt Guilder (ex officio)
I am part of the Governors as part of my role as Vicar of St Cuthbert’s Over Kellet. I am here to cheer on the school and support the whole school community, especially with a focus on the Christian input and ethos of the school.

Mrs Sam Howard (staff governor)

Mrs Danielle Hodkinson (parent governor)
I am a parent governor meaning I have been voted to be a governor by parents of children in the school. I have 3 children at Wilson’s Endowed, Alexandra, Libby and Daniel. I work part time for Lancashire Police as Crime Scene Investigator and I am also treasurer for the PTA. I am here to support parents views and opinions and to put the children’s wants and needs forward to my fellow governors.
Mrs Gemma Hooper (PCC governor)
Mrs Penny Burnside
After more than thirty years’ involvement in education in Devon, I moved back to my native Lancashire in 2017 when my husband’s job brought us to Capernwray. As a member of St Cuthbert’s church, I really value the partnership between the school and the church. I want to support and encourage the headteacher and staff as they continue to provide the best possible educational experience for all of the children. As a former headteacher of a rural primary, I have a particular interest in village schools – their unique personalities, their opportunities and challenges, and their very special contribution to their local communities. I hope that my experience as a teacher, headteacher, governor, school improvement partner, diocesan adviser and SIAMS inspector will help me to serve this school well.

Mr Peter Thomas
Following 37 years working in secondary education, we moved to Over Kellet to be nearer to family. Roughly 12 years ago I was invited to be the LA governor at Wilson’s. Hopefully my skills and knowledge gained through teaching and leadership have allowed me to contribute positively to most aspects of school life at Wilson’s. I have particularly enjoyed going on school outings and I have supported a wide range of other activities. I am also proud to have served the governing body as Vice Chair.

Mrs Rebecca Lauder (parent governor)
I joined the team as a parent governor in Summer 2024. I have one daughter in the school, Livie, and am a member of the PTA. I work full time as a partner and solicitor in a local law firm.
I joined the governing team to help ensure the children receive the best possible education in a supportive environment. I aim to provide a parental perspective to discussions and work with my fellow governors to safeguard the continued success of the school.

Mr Mike Gregory (foundation governor)
It is great to be able to act as one of the foundation governor’s for Wilson’s Endowed, with a daughter and son both at the school. I work at Capernwray Bible School and Holiday Centre, looking after the finance and operations for the charity. I hope to use my experience in finance to work with the school’s leadership team to help ensure the school’s resources are being used as effectively as possible to serve the pupils.
