We are teaching the children that art is: Art is exploring ideas by experimenting, inventing, and creating using a range of materials.
We believe art, craft and design give a chance for our children to show off their creativity. We give opportunities to inspire and challenge, to evaluate and experiment with different forms and media. We use the Kapow scheme of work as a basis and incorporate local artists and knowledge to make the curriculum our own.

The national curriculum for art and design aims to ensure that all pupils:
- produce creative work, exploring their ideas and recording their experiences
- become proficient in drawing, painting, sculpture and other art, craft and design techniques
- evaluate and analyse creative works using the language of art, craft and design
- know about great artists, craft makers and designers, and understand the historical and cultural development of their art forms.
