Worship at Over Kellet is led by our 3 I’s where we aim to be:
Inspirational, Invitational and Inclusive
All children are welcomed into worship, whatever their faith and wherever they are on their own personal journey.
We actively encourage children to lead and engage in worship. Our worship committee regularly contribute to leading worship and suggest ideas. From lighting a candle, to showing our Know, Grow Show in sign language, reading passages or prayers, or acting out stories from the Bible, the children are encouraged to contribute.
In our latest SIAMs report (May 2019) it states, “Collective worship is sincere, varied and inclusive and enables exceptional spiritual growth in both pupils and adults.”.
We draw upon a variety of resources to help engage the children. Mondays are often based upon our value or Picture News, with Tuesdays using the diocese resource of Living Out God’s Big Story. Wednesdays are based on Roots and Fruits or a Bible story. Thursdays are led by our wonderful Rev Matt – and everyone is invited! Fridays are our celebration day where we share all the wonderful things we’ve been up to in the week – in school and out!
